GHATSHILA – In a significant step to strengthen police-public interaction, a public grievance camp was organized on Wednesday at the Ghatshila block auditorium. The initiative, led by Zonal IG Akhilesh Jha, focused on educating citizens about their rights and the complaint resolution process.

Emphasis on Accessible Complaint Mechanisms

IG Akhilesh Jha assured the public of the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns swiftly. He encouraged citizens to approach police stations, DSPs, or SPs without hesitation. For unresolved issues, Jha recommended calling the 112 helpline, promising confidentiality and prompt resolution.

Focus on Emergency and Cybercrime Helplines

The IG highlighted the utility of the 112 helpline, which offers emergency services for medical, fire, and police assistance. Addressing the growing threat of cybercrime, he urged citizens to utilize the 1930 helpline to report digital fraud promptly. “Stay vigilant and report any suspicious calls or messages immediately,” he advised.

Building Trust Through Dialogue

The camp aimed to enhance mutual trust between the police and the public while addressing common issues like land disputes and safety concerns. Jha reiterated that the police’s role in land disputes is to maintain peace, urging people to rely on legal avenues for resolution.

Community Engagement and Participation

A large number of people attended the event to share their grievances, with steps being taken toward resolving their issues. Key attendees included Ghatshila SDPO Ajit Kumar Kujur, Musabani DSP Sandeep Bhagat, Maubhandar OP in-charge Pankaj Kumar, Deputy Chief Gopal Krishna Agarwal, and several others.
