JAMSHEDPUR – A shocking stone-pelting incident on the Steel Express from Howrah to Tatanagar has raised concerns over passenger safety. The event occurred on January 20, between Mines and Galudih stations, leaving several passengers with minor injuries and damaging four train windows.

Railway officials at Tatanagar station stopped the train to assess the situation. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated an investigation but has yet to identify the culprits.

Security Questions Amid Growing Worry

The lack of immediate action has led to criticism. Passengers, including some arriving at Tatanagar, expressed frustration over the absence of a swift response. A passenger remarked, “The authorities should have acted promptly and ensured the attackers were caught.”

RPF’s Role Under Scrutiny

Despite boasting tight security measures, RPF’s inability to prevent such incidents raises serious concerns. Eyewitnesses report that the train, traveling at high speed, did not stop during the attack, contrary to protocol.

Incident Location and Details

The attack occurred along a five-kilometer stretch between Asanboni and Rakhamines stations. While no fatalities or significant injuries occurred, the incident highlights lapses in railway security measures.

Investigations and Preventive Measures

Railway officials are analyzing the area and promising stricter measures to prevent future occurrences. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with officials speculating possible local grievances.
