  • Patients will no longer need to travel to Ranchi for treatment.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Healing Minds mental health hospital and de-addiction center was inaugurated in Jamshedpur’s Birsa Nagar Zone 1 on Sunday. The event was marked by the presence of Dr. Jayanti, Director of Ranchi’s RINPAS, Dr. Sahir Paul, Civil Surgeon of Jamshedpur, and Dr. Mahesh Hembram, Director of Healing Minds, who jointly cut the ribbon.

Addressing a Long-Felt Need

This is the first mental health facility in the Kolhan region, which previously lacked such a center. Until now, patients requiring mental health treatment were referred to Ranchi. The launch of this hospital in Jamshedpur will significantly ease the burden on patients and families.

Currently, the hospital has 12 beds. According to mental health professionals, the facility will focus on providing initial treatment to stabilize patients. Those with severe conditions will continue to be referred to Ranchi’s RINPAS for specialized care.

Future Prospects

The establishment of Healing Minds is expected to improve access to mental health services and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness in the region. It marks a critical step toward addressing the growing mental health challenges in Kolhan.
