Students Protest Over Chowkidar Recruitment Irregularities

Students Question Recruitment Process at DC Office

Key Points:

  • Students staged protests at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Jamshedpur.
  • Memorandum raised seven questions over recruitment process irregularities.
  • Physical measurement test criticized amid transparency concerns.

JAMSHEDPUR – Students in Jamshedpur protested at the DC office, demanding answers over irregularities in the recent Chowkidar recruitment process. They raised seven key questions through a memorandum and urged the administration for transparency.

Concerns Over Exam Cancellations

The students pointed out inconsistencies in the recruitment process. The 100-mark exam conducted on December 1, 2024, was canceled, followed by a 50-mark re-examination on December 22. However, controversial questions like 6, 7, 9, 18, and others were cited as problematic, raising doubts over the declared results.

Questions of Transparency

Candidates demanded clarity on why scores were not published for successful candidates, unlike in Bokaro and Hazaribagh. “The recruitment process lacks transparency, and we need clear answers,” stated Inder Hembram, a student leader who spearheaded the protest.

Physical Measurement Tests Under Fire

Students criticized the decision to proceed with physical measurement tests starting January 7 despite unresolved issues. They argued that results should be declared based on beat-specific criteria as advertised.

United Front

Among the protesters were Ishwar Murmu, Karma Mardi, Somnath Mahato, and many others. Their collective efforts reflect growing frustration with perceived systemic failures.
