Nine Key Proposals Including Police Chief Selection Rules Get Green Light

RANCHI – Chief Minister Hemant Soren chaired the first cabinet meeting of 2024, approving nine crucial proposals including the upcoming budget session schedule.

The cabinet meeting set significant policy directions. It addressed healthcare, education, and administrative reforms.

Healthcare Boost

The government approved an MoU with the Union Health Ministry. This agreement paves the way for a new AIIMS in Deoghar.

The medical institute aims to enhance healthcare services. It will provide quality medical education and treatment facilities.

Administrative Reforms

The cabinet approved new rules for selecting the Director General of Police. The 2024 guidelines aim to increase transparency in top police appointments.

Additionally, the government restructured junior education service positions. This reorganization reflects current administrative needs.

Budget Planning

The cabinet finalized the budget session schedule. Dr. Seema Akhouri from St. Xavier’s College will lead pre-budget workshops.

The government established a special court in Garhwa’s Untari. This court will handle cases under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
