JAMSHEDPUR – Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited the Steel City to commemorate Tata Steel’s centenary celebrations on April 22, 2008.

B Muthuraman, Managing Director, welcomed the distinguished guest. He emphasized the company’s unique corporate philosophy.

Prime Minister’s Tribute

Dr Singh praised Jamsetji Tata’s vision. He called Tata Steel a “temple of modern India.”

Meanwhile, the company pledged to maintain its leadership in steelmaking. The PM expressed confidence in its future growth.

Special Commemorations

The event featured symbolic gestures. A banyan sapling plantation marked the occasion.

Moreover, the government issued a special postal stamp. The Ministry of Communication designed this commemorative item.
