Jamshedpur, Seraikela officers to be relocated to Chaibasa district

Key Points:

  • Officers stationed for over 8 years to be transferred.
  • Move to address police force shortage in Maoist-affected Chaibasa.
  • Action to be completed within 4 days, as per directives.

RANCHI – The Jharkhand Police Department has initiated a major reshuffling to address the shortage of police personnel in Maoist-affected Chaibasa. Officers posted in Jamshedpur and Seraikela for over eight years will now be relocated to strengthen anti-Maoist operations and improve law and order in the district.

Addressing Force Shortage in Chaibasa

Chaibasa, a region heavily impacted by Maoist activities, has been struggling with inadequate police deployment, which has affected ongoing anti-insurgency efforts. During an inspection, senior police officials identified the need for immediate reinforcement.

The transfer order, issued by the Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General (IG), prioritizes personnel stationed for extended periods in Jamshedpur and Seraikela. However, officers with prior service experience in Chaibasa have been exempted from this process.

Swift Implementation and Deadline

The police administration has set a strict deadline of four days to prepare the list of eligible officers and complete their relocation. Senior officials emphasized that this initiative will enhance the efficiency of anti-Maoist operations while reinforcing security in the district.

An official stated, “The relocation of officers is aimed at addressing manpower shortages in Chaibasa and ensuring effective law enforcement in Maoist-affected areas.”

Strengthening Law and Order

This strategic transfer is expected to bolster security measures in Chaibasa and improve the overall quality of policing. The move aligns with Jharkhand Police’s goal to eliminate Maoist influence and maintain public safety in the region.

The police department remains committed to strengthening operations in vulnerable districts while ensuring efficient personnel deployment across the state.
