Assailants Target Recent Jail Release in Brazen Morning Attack

MEDININAGAR – A recent murder case accused was shot and injured in Muslim Nagar area over a property dispute.

Two bike-borne assailants shot Saddam Qureshi in his arm. The incident occurred around 9 AM on Wednesday.

Qureshi had been recently released from jail. He was arrested in connection with Namita Devi’s murder.

“The victim was threatened over attempts to capture a vacant plot,” said a local resident.

Property Dispute Details

The disputed land belongs to Salim Sadar. Qureshi tried to capture it after his release.

The assailants had covered their faces. They fled immediately after shooting.

Meanwhile, Qureshi has named six people in his statement to police.

Police Investigation Underway

City Police Station Officer Devbrat Poddar is investigating the case.

“We have registered an FIR against six named accused,” said an investigating officer.

The accused include Salim Sadar, Vicky Khan, and Mintu Rangsaz.

Moreover, Sabir Rangsaz, Shahryar Ali, and Bhutto from Shahpur are also named.

Qureshi was initially taken to Medini Rai Medical College Hospital.

On the other hand, he was later shifted to Shree Narayana Multi-Specialty Hospital.
