Hemant Soren Cabinet Sworn In, 11 Ministers Take Oath

Six new faces inducted, regional balance maintained in Jharkhand government

RANCHI – Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office to 11 ministers of the Hemant Soren cabinet at a ceremony held in the Ashok Udyan of Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

Professor Stephen Marandi took the oath as Protem Speaker before the ministers were sworn in. Radhakrishna Kishore was the first to be sworn in as a minister, followed by Deepak Birua, Chamra Linda, Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Ramdas Soren, Irfan Ansari, Hafizul Hasan, Deepika Pandey Singh, Yogendra Prasad, Sudivya Kumar, and Shilpi Neha Tirkey.

Six Fresh Faces in Cabinet

The new cabinet features six first-time ministers: Chamra Linda, Sudivya Sonu, and Yogendra Pratap from the JMM, Shilpi Neha Tirkey and Radhakrishna Kishore from Congress, and Sanjay Prasad Yadav from the RJD. The coalition allotted six seats to JMM, four to Congress, and one to RJD.

Representation Across Regions

Efforts to balance representation across Jharkhand’s five divisions were evident in the cabinet formation. Santhal Pargana dominated with four ministers, including Hafizul Ansari (Madhupur), Irfan Ansari (Jamtara), Deepika Pandey Singh (Mahagama), and Sanjay Prasad Yadav (Godda). From the Palamu division, Congress MLA Radhakrishna Kishore was included, while Kolhan was represented by Ramdas Soren and Deepak Birua. South Chotanagpur and Koylanchal divisions received two ministerial positions each.

RJD Minister:

  • Sanjay Prasad Yadav (Godda)
