RANCHI – Security forces engaged in a fierce gunfight with Naxal insurgents in Manika’s Sikit-Bandua forest area, resulting in weapon seizures.

ASP Kumar Gaurav spearheaded the counter-insurgency mission.

Moreover, reliable intelligence prompted the operation in dense forest terrain.

Meanwhile, the Naxal group initiated hostile fire upon spotting police forces.

"The encounter demonstrated our readiness to counter extremist threats," stated a senior intelligence official.

However, the militants escaped under cover of darkness.

In addition, police discovered multiple weapons at the encounter site.

Furthermore, the area has witnessed 15 similar encounters in past six months.

On the other hand, Manika region reported 30% decline in Naxal activities this year.

Meanwhile, three neighboring districts intensified their anti-Naxal operations recently.

Besides, local authorities established five new police outposts in vulnerable areas.

Moreover, security forces conducted 25 successful operations since January 2024.
