JAMSHEDPUR – Palamu district gears up for vote counting on November 23, following the completion of polling in the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections on November 13.
The GLA College campus will serve as the designated counting venue, with arrangements being overseen by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan.
Strict security measures will be enforced at the site.
Separate Halls for Five Constituencies
The district administration has made specific arrangements for each constituency.
Votes from Daltonganj, Panki, Bishrampur, Chhatarpur, and Hussainabad will be counted in separate halls at the GLA College campus.
For the 1,796 booths that participated in the election, counting will proceed across 96 rounds.
Dalitanganj’s tally will be completed in 20 rounds, while Panki, Bishrampur, Chhatarpur, and Hussainabad constituencies will each require 19 rounds.
Designated Tables for Counting
The administration has set up dedicated tables for vote counting.
Dalitanganj will have 22 tables, Bishrampur 20, and Panki, Chhatarpur, and Hussainabad will each utilize 18 tables.
For postal ballots, eight tables have been arranged, and votes received from ITBP personnel will be counted at 12 designated tables.
Counting to Begin Under Tight Security
The process will commence at 8 a.m. on November 23 under stringent security arrangements.
On Monday, Deputy Development Commissioner Shabbir Ahmed and Municipal Commissioner Mohammed Javed Hussain inspected the strongroom and reviewed preparations at the venue.
Shabbir Ahmed stated, “The administration is committed to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and efficient counting process.”
Preparations are on track to meet the roadmap set by the Election Commission.
