JAMSHEDPUR – Banna Gupta criticized Saryu Roy as a "turncoat" who undermines Jharkhand’s unity and development.

In a recent campaign speech in Jamshedpur West, Banna Gupta, the INDIA coalition candidate, called out his rival Saryu Roy for his lack of loyalty to Jharkhand’s coalition government.

Gupta criticized Roy’s opposition to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, under whom he serves, accusing him of trying to weaken the very government that appointed him.

According to Gupta, "No worse example exists than a leader benefiting from a coalition while plotting its defeat."

Highlighting the upcoming election period during Diwali and Chhath, Gupta urged the public to view each vote as a symbolic "lamp" that would help illuminate a path of change.

He encouraged citizens to reject divisive leaders, saying, "Vote like a lamp to brighten Jamshedpur and let the light drive out leaders like Roy who’ve abandoned their promises."

In his campaign stops across Dhaktidih, Sonari, and Mango, Gupta received significant support, with residents pRoysing his infrastructure improvements, such as installing pavements and block roads in underserved areas.

Many locals reportedly joined his marches spontaneously, testifying to the popularity of his efforts.

Gupta drew a contrast between his approach and that of Roy, who he claims often criticizes others without suggesting solutions.

Gupta described Roy’s public behavior as disruptive, particularly in questioning local professionals and doctors.

“Unlike Roy, who looks for faults, I prioritize building solutions. This is why Jamshedpur has seen real changes over the last five years,” Gupta stated.

Gupta also highlighted his work to improve local water quality and construct new facilities along the Subarnarekha river, addressing pollution and enhancing public spaces.
