Saryu Roy to Contest from Jamshedpur West on JDU Ticket

NDA alliance allocates seat, setting stage for clash with Banna Gupta

Key Points:

• JDU given Jamshedpur West seat in NDA alliance

• Saryu Roy accepts candidacy despite preferring Jamshedpur East

• Roy predicts victory margin of over 50,000 votes

JAMSHEDPUR – The National Democratic Alliance has allocated the Jamshedpur West seat to Janata Dal United, with Saryu Roy as the candidate.

Roy, currently Jamshedpur East MLA, expressed satisfaction with the decision.

The JDU officially announced Roy’s candidacy for Jamshedpur West.

Moreover, Roy accepted the decision despite his preference for Jamshedpur East.

He committed to running from Jamshedpur West, following NDA principles.

Furthermore, Roy predicts a victory margin exceeding 50,000 votes.

The candidate is actively engaging with BJP, AJSU, and LJP leaders for support.

Meanwhile, Roy is expected to face INDI Alliance candidate Banna Gupta.

This matchup is particularly intriguing due to the ongoing Roy-Gupta rivalry.

Additionally, Jamshedpur West has seen power shifts between BJP and Congress historically.

The BJP previously held this seat for 25 years.

On the other hand, Roy’s 2019 rebellion led to Raghubar Das’s defeat in Jamshedpur East.

A local political analyst noted, "Roy’s influence could significantly impact this election."

The upcoming contest in Jamshedpur West promises to be a closely watched political battle.
