JAMSHEDPUR – A young man lost his life in a violent confrontation between two groups of bikers during Durga Puja celebrations in Bistupur.

The tragic incident unfolded on N-Road near SNTI late Saturday night.

Debraj Pillai, a 21-year-old from Ulyan, Kadma, was the unfortunate victim.

He was out pandal hopping with three friends on two motorcycles.

A minor collision sparked a heated altercation between the groups.

The situation quickly escalated as tensions rose.

According to police reports, the rival group summoned reinforcements.

Approximately 20-25 additional individuals joined the fray.

In the ensuing chaos, a member of the opposing group attacked Debraj.

The assailant repeatedly stabbed the young man, inflicting grave injuries.

Debraj’s friends rushed him to Tata Main Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Tragically, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.

They are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area.

However, no arrests have been made as of yet.

The victim, son of R. Pillai, had a promising future ahead.

He was scheduled to begin a contractual position at Tata Steel the following day.

This senseless act of violence has shocked the local community.

"It’s heartbreaking to see a young life cut short during a festive celebration," remarked a local resident.

The incident has cast a shadow over the ongoing Durga Puja festivities.
