JAMSHEDPUR – The District Industry Center’s Handicraft Resource-cum-Development Center initiates a Patkar painting training camp to preserve and promote the traditional art form.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Old Court Campus in Jamshedpur, marking the beginning of the two-month program.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, General Manager of the District Industry Center, addressed the trainees at the event.

He highlighted potential employment opportunities in the handicraft sector for skilled artisans.

Moreover, the training program aims to accommodate 30 women trainees from different areas.

Specifically, 15 participants hail from Amadubi and its surroundings, while the other 15 are from Jamshedpur.

The comprehensive course will span 50 working days, providing in-depth instruction in Patkar painting techniques.

Furthermore, trainees will receive all necessary materials for their artistic endeavors at no cost.

In addition, the program offers a daily stipend of Rs. 150 to support the participants during their training.

Meanwhile, key officials attended the inauguration, including EoDB Manager Syed Mudassir Anwar and District Entrepreneur Coordinator Manju Minz.

Patkar painting instructor Kishore Gayan and coordinator Ramat Mardi were also present to guide the trainees.

The General Manager expressed optimism about linking skilled painters to Jharkhand’s Hunar portal after the training.

This initiative aims to provide a unique platform for showcasing the talents of these budding artists.
