Jharkhand CGL Exam Paper Leak Case Reaches High Court

PIL Filed Seeking CBI or Judicial Probe into JSSC CGL Exam Controversy

Key Points:

• PIL filed in High Court for CBI or judicial inquiry into exam leak

• SIT investigation report submitted, findings not yet public

• Over 650,000 applicants affected by JSSC CGL exam controversy

RANCHI – A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court, seeking a CBI or judicial probe into the JSSC CGL examination paper leak scandal.

The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level exam, held on January 28, 2023, has been embroiled in controversy.

Moreover, allegations of a paper leak surfaced shortly after the examination.

In response, the state police formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the matter.

However, the SIT’s findings have not been made public, raising concerns about transparency.

The petitioner argues that a more thorough investigation is necessary.

On the other hand, the PIL requests either a CBI inquiry or a judicial probe into the incident.

As of now, the High Court has not listed the PIL for hearing.

The JSSC CGL exam aimed to fill 2,025 posts across various government departments.

Notably, over 650,000 applicants participated in the examination.

Meanwhile, the SIT, comprising seven officers including three DSPs, has submitted its report to the court.

In contrast to the ongoing controversy, the state government’s intentions behind conducting the exam were to streamline recruitment.
