Tribal Sengel Abhiyan Holds Rally in Jamshedpur for Sarna Code

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tribal Sengel Abhiyan organized a rally in Jamshedpur, pushing for the implementation of the Sarna Religious Code and highlighting several other tribal concerns.

The rally started from the Aam Bagan Ground in Sakchi, covering the entire Sakchi area before concluding back at the starting point.

Participants emphasized the need to implement the Sarna Religious Code, reflecting the sentiments of 15 crore tribal people across the nation.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Jamshedpur on September 15, the Abhiyan welcomed his visit and urged him to address their demands.

"We welcome Prime Minister Modi to Jamshedpur and request him to respect the feelings of 15 crore tribals by implementing the Sarna Religious Code," said a representative from the rally.

The rally also called for the return of Parasnath, a site sacred to the tribal community as Marang Buru, currently under Jain control.

Furthermore, they demanded that Santhali, a language included in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, be recognized as the first state language of Jharkhand.

The rally highlighted additional demands aimed at safeguarding tribal rights and interests.
