RANCHI – The Ranchi Meteorological Centre of IMD anticipates that Jharkhand will experience mild to moderate rainfall over the next five days, with no heavy rainfall alerts.
Several regions in Jharkhand experienced bright sunlight today, which is a departure from the typical monsoon conditions.
Over the next 72 hours, meteorologists predict a gradual increase in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C.
This suggests a limited period of warm weather throughout the state.
There was a cyclonic circulation over the east-central Bay of Bengal, as evidenced by satellite imagery, that extended to a height of 5.8 km above the mean sea level.
On August 29, it is anticipated that this circulation will produce a new low-pressure area in the east-central and adjacent north Bay of Bengal.
The system is expected to proceed west-northwestward, approaching the coasts of south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh in the coming days.
The cyclonic circulation was also accompanied by an east-west trough that extended from the southeast region of Uttar Pradesh.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was observed to transit through a variety of locations, such as Digha and Daltonganj.
Jharkhand’s overall rainfall deficit is a manageable 9 percent, despite the current subdued monsoon activity.
A meteorologist from the Ranchi Meteorological Centre reported that the state has received 707 mm of rainfall, which is considered satisfactory for this time of year, in contrast to the seasonal average of 778 mm.
Surplus rainfall has been documented in numerous districts, such as Simdega, Ranchi, and Dhanbad.
Nevertheless, 15 districts continue to be on the rain deficit list, underscoring the uneven distribution of monsoon rainfall throughout Jharkhand.
The state is not expected to experience any severe weather events in the near future, according to the IMD.
It is recommended that residents remain informed about weather updates, particularly in light of the recent formation of a new low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal.
