60 candidates vie for 16 posts; results expected late night after 6 PM vote count

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Bar Association elections saw a significant 83% voter turnout, with results anticipated to be announced late at night.
The voting process commenced at 10 AM, following a briefing of all 60 candidates about the ballot papers at 9 AM.
A three-member election committee, headed by Advocate Virendra Singh, supervised the proceedings.
Senior advocate Ram Subhag Singh and Jharkhand State Bar Council Vice President Rajesh Kumar Shukla were present as observers.
Advocates Babita Jain, Amarjeet Kaur Biswas, and DK Biswas were among the first to cast their votes.
To streamline the process, three tables were set up for ballot distribution, utilizing color-coded papers.
The Bar Bhawan’s first floor was equipped with cardboard partitions to ensure secret voting.
Long queues formed early in the morning, with separate arrangements made for senior advocates and women.
Breakfast packets were provided to participants after voting.
CCTV cameras monitored the entire process, while district police maintained security.
The election includes 60 candidates competing for 16 posts, including President, Vice President, and General Secretary.
According to Election Committee spokesperson Advocate Ranjan Dhari Singh, "Vote counting would begin after 6 PM."
