Naman Protests Rising Violence Against Women in Jamshedpur

Group demands fast-track courts, death penalty for rapists in memorandum

Social organization Naman staged a protest at the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner’s office against rising violence against women.

JAMSHEDPUR – Amarpreet Singh Kale, the leader of the social organization Naman, protested at the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner’s office in order to demand justice for the victims of women’s violence.

The group submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner that was addressed to the President of India.

Naman’s appeal conveyed his profound apprehension regarding the nationwide rise in sexual violence cases.

Amarpreet Singh Kale underscored the necessity of immediate presidential intervention to guarantee the prompt delivery of justice.

Kale emphasized that "delay in justice is injustice" and urged the implementation of safety measures to safeguard the integrity of Indian civilization.

The memorandum emphasized the fact that media channels publish daily reports of atrocities against women.

Naman condemned the government’s efforts to safeguard criminals, characterizing them as an affront to humanity and justice.

The organization expressed apprehension regarding the insufficient deterrence for offenders and the sluggish judicial process.

The establishment of "special fast-track courts" for the daily hearing of heinous crime cases was demanded by protesters.

The memorandum advocated for the execution of convicted offenders within a specified time frame.

Naman requested that victims and their families be provided with sufficient security to prevent additional trauma.

The group suggested specialized rehabilitation programs for rape victims to facilitate their recovery and reintegration into society.

The demands included the implementation of stringent measures against officials or politicians who were either safeguarding criminals or obstructing justice.

Additionally, the memorandum advocated for the implementation of improved safety protocols for women, including those recommended by the organization at the local level.
