Purnima Mahato inaugurates 3-day event at JRD Tata Badminton Training Centre
The JOGGA Inter School Badminton Championship 2024 kicked off in Jamshedpur, featuring 17 schools and 200 students.
JAMSHEDPUR – The JOGGA Inter School Badminton Championship 2024 commenced on August 22 at the JRD Tata Badminton Training Centre, which was inaugurated by Padma Shri recipient Purnima Mahato.
The three-day event was inaugurated by the renowned archer and Dronacharya Award recipient, Purnima Mahato.
Mahato expressed her gratitude to JOGGA and JUSCO School South Park for their efforts in organizing the championship during her opening speech.
She emphasized the event’s significance in showcasing the talents of juvenile badminton players from Jamshedpur.
Mahato underscored the importance of hard labor and dedication in the pursuit of success.
The guest of honor was Jiju Thomas, Senior Manager at JEM Foundation.
Firoz Khan, the Vice President and sports promoter of JOGGA, was in attendance as a distinguished guest.
Mili Sinha, the Principal of JUSCO School South Park, extended a warm greeting to the guests and participants.
Sinha enthusiastically encouraged the young players to partake in the tournament.
Seventeen schools and approximately 200 pupils have participated in the championship.
The event is being directed by Vivek Sharma, the Head Coach of Badminton at JRD Sports Complex.
Sharma and his team will supervise the tournament’s activities for the duration of three days.
The championship offers a substantial opportunity for juvenile badminton enthusiasts to exhibit their abilities.
