Candle March in Jamshedpur Demands Justice for Kolkata Doctor

Protesters in Jamshedpur call for the death penalty for the guilty; Smyle Foundation organizes a candle march.

A candle march was organized in Jamshedpur by Smyle Foundation, demanding the death penalty for those responsible for the heinous crime against a woman doctor in Kolkata.

JAMSHEDPUR – A candle march was held in Jamshedpur, demanding justice for a woman doctor who was the victim of a brutal crime in Kolkata.

The march, organized by Smyle Foundation, saw a large turnout of participants who carried candles and posters demanding the execution of the culprits.

Starting from Sankosai in Mango, the march proceeded to Mango roundabout, where it transformed into a protest.

Many members of the foundation, both men and women, participated in the march, praying for the peace of the doctor’s soul.

Bunty Gupta, the founder of Smyle Foundation, expressed his concerns, stating, "Such incidents have occurred before, and sending the culprits to jail does not prevent future crimes. There is a need for legal reform, and these criminals should be executed swiftly."

Another foundation member, Prachi Singh, highlighted the issue of women’s safety in India.

She said, "Women of all age groups are unsafe. Do only men have all the freedom, not women? There should be laws ensuring that women can safely travel alone, even at midnight. The culprits in this case must be given the death penalty immediately."

Prominent attendees included BJP OBC Morcha district president Dharmendra Prasad, Vinod Rai, Prachi Singh, Shivani, Nisha, Pintu Sharma, Lal Babu, Suman Srivastava, Sushil Pandey, Navneet Tiwari, Praveen Vishwakarma, Chintu Sharma, Deepak Patra, Deepak Prasad, Santosh Kumar, and several other foundation members.
