Chamber appeals to aviation minister, airlines for new route
Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry requests direct air service between Ranchi and Jaipur to facilitate Phagan Mahotsav pilgrims.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has appealed for direct flights between Ranchi and Jaipur to support pilgrims attending the Phagan Mahotsav at Khatu Dham, Rajasthan.
SCCI President Vijay Anand Moonka and Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia spearheaded the appeal to Civil Aviation Minister K.R. Naidu.
The chamber has also reached out to the Prime Minister’s Office and major airlines including Air India, Vistara, and Indigo.
The Phagan Mahotsav, scheduled from February 15 to March 15, 2025, is expected to draw participants from across India.
Current travel arrangements force pilgrims to endure lengthy journeys with stopovers in Delhi.
The lack of direct flights has been a longstanding issue for Jharkhand pilgrims traveling to Jaipur.
SCCI hopes to see the new route established in time for next year’s festival.
The proposed air service aims to significantly reduce travel time and inconvenience for devotees.
This initiative could potentially boost religious tourism between Jharkhand and Rajasthan.
The appeal highlights the growing demand for improved air connectivity in the region.
SCCI’s efforts underscore the economic and cultural importance of the Phagan Mahotsav for both states.
