Security has been increased at Garhwa Sadar Hospital’s prisoner ward following the escape of a prisoner from Hazaribagh.
GARHWA – In response to the recent escape of a prisoner from Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital, security has been heightened at Garhwa Sadar Hospital, where five prisoners from Mandal Kara are currently receiving treatment.
Garhwa SP Deepak Pandey conducted a surprise inspection of the hospital to review the security arrangements.
The SP, along with the Civil Surgeon, thoroughly examined the security measures in place, ensuring that every area of the ward was carefully inspected.
SP Pandey also briefed the police personnel on maintaining vigilance during the prisoners’ treatment.
The incident in Hazaribagh, where a prisoner killed a security guard and escaped, has prompted increased security checks in hospitals across Jharkhand.
SP Pandey emphasized that such inspections are part of routine security measures, and any shortcomings found during the inspection were addressed, with instructions given to the Civil Surgeon and the on-duty personnel.
Civil Surgeon also noted that the prisoner ward is highly sensitive and requires special attention, highlighting the SP’s suggestions to fix issues like malfunctioning CCTV cameras and broken windows.
The administration is taking all necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in Garhwa.
