Health and Hygiene Club educates Std. 5 and 6 students on dengue symptoms and prevention.

Kerala Samajam Model School organized a comprehensive dengue awareness session for students of Std. 5 and 6, aiming to enhance their understanding of the disease.

JAMSHEDPUR – Kerala Samajam Model School recently held a dengue awareness session for students of Std. 5 and 6, focusing on the importance of early detection and prevention.

The session was conducted by Nurse Kamla V, who provided detailed insights into the symptoms, causes, and preventive measures against dengue.

She emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness to avoid mosquito breeding, which is the primary cause of dengue outbreaks.

Students were actively engaged throughout the session, which featured informative presentations and educational videos highlighting the dangers of dengue.

The event was successfully overseen by Principal Nandini Shukla, with support from Vice-Principals Ms. Rina Banerjee, Ms. Sujata Singh, and Mr. A L Abraham, as well as the club moderator Ms. Navjeet Kaur.

Dengue fever, caused by the dengue virus, is transmitted by the Aedes mosquito and poses a significant health risk, especially in tropical regions like India.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that dengue affects millions of people globally each year, making awareness and prevention efforts crucial.

KSMS’s initiative is part of a broader effort to educate students on health and hygiene, ensuring they are well-informed about the risks associated with dengue and how to protect themselves and their families.
