JAMSHEDPUR – Supreme Court advocate Sandeep Banerjee to represent Bhuiyandih residents at NGT on August 23.
On Tuesday, former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar met with residents of Kalyan Nagar, Radhika Nagar, and Chhayanagar in Bhuiyandih.
He assured them that their struggle is now shared, and no house will be demolished under the INDIA alliance government.
Dr. Kumar emphasized that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is also serious about the issue and has directed senior officials to take necessary action.
Dr. Kumar informed the residents that on August 23, senior advocate Sandeep Banerjee will present their case at the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
He stated that he will personally bear all expenses related to this.
He also mentioned that a petition has already been filed in the Ranchi High Court against the notice issued by the NGT.
Attorney General Rajiv Ranjan assured that the government will present its stance at the NGT to protect the homes of the people.
Dr. Kumar encouraged the residents to stay strong and not be afraid, promising support at every step.
Notably, Dr. Kumar had initially taken action on this matter by writing to the Chief Minister on July 13, requesting intervention.
A petition was also filed in the Ranchi High Court against the NGT notice.
Dr. Kumar discussed the issue with Attorney General Rajiv Ranjan, who confirmed the government’s support in the NGT.
Advocate Sandeep Banerjee agreed to take up the case at Dr. Kumar’s request.
Dr. Kumar is actively working on this issue, ensuring continuous support for the residents.
The meeting was attended by many residents, including Rakesh Sahu, Niranjan Prasad, Raunak Kumar Gupta, Ravi Ranjan, Ashok Sahu, Kishore Gupta, Shibu Mahato, Rajnish Singh, and Gautam Sahu.
