Jamshedpur FC Signs Nigerian Defender Stephen Eze

Former player returns to bolster defense on two-year contract

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC has finally confirmed the much-awaited signing of Nigerian international Stephen Eze on a two-year contract.

The player is expected to bolster their defensive options for the upcoming season in a much anticipated move from the city club.

With a towering body presence of 6’4" and a wealth of experience as well as a towering ground-presence, the 30-year-old center-back is highly expected to add a valuable presence to the Men of Steel’s defense, which has not been stellar so far.

It may be recalled here that in the 2020-21 season, Eze’s time with Jamshedpur FC showcased his prowess in aerial duels and his ability to score important goals.

"I’m really excited to be back at Jamshedpur FC," Eze exclaimed, conveying his enthusiasm for playing at the Furnace stadium.

Coach Khalid Jamil profusely commended Eze’s remarkable play versatility and playing skills, emphasizing his exceptional skill in handling different defensive positions.

"His time in the ISL will definitely prove to be extremely valuable, especially when it comes to set pieces and will definitely help the team overall," Jamil commented, highlighting Eze’s significance to the team’s overall strategy.

The Nigerian defender has had a range of experiences, from playing for Quang Nam in Vietnam to Queens Park in Scotland.

With Eze’s impressive international experience, which includes representing Nigeria and playing in the Europa League, Jamshedpur’s squad gains a valuable edge.

Jamshedpur FC has made their fourth foreign acquisition for the season, bringing in a new player to strengthen their central defense.

Eze’s impressive skills in the air and his strong physicality are set to make a big difference in both defensive and attacking set pieces.

In the previous season with Jamshedpur, he had managed to win an impressive 93 aerial duels and found the back of the net 4 times, demonstrating his overtowering skills.

The defender is expected to wear jersey number 6 and will be joining the team’s pre-season training in the upcoming weeks.
