Saryu Roy Challenges Food Supply Minister Banna Gupta over Alleged Dept Misconduct

Former minister accuses current official of potential grain misappropriation

MLA Roy calls for vigilance in food distribution, citing concerns of black market diversion.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has launched a scathing attack on Jharkhand’s current Food Supply Minister, accusing him of potential misconduct and issuing a bold challenge.

In a press release, Roy alleged the minister is unnecessarily investigating files from his tenure, possibly to divert grains to the black market.

"The current minister might find good things, but he won’t be able to digest or accept them," Roy stated, confidently defending his past tenure.

The former minister challenged his successor to find any evidence of loss to the state or beneficiaries during his time in office.

Roy suggested the minister’s true motive might be to uncover mistakes from Dr. Rameshwar Oraon’s tenure, possibly to appease the Congress high command.

"I have reliable information about intentions to misappropriate food grains from government godowns," Roy claimed, vowing to prevent such attempts.

The MLA emphasized that both his and Dr. Oraon’s tenures maintained proper order in grain distribution.

Roy called for increased vigilance to avoid repeating alleged issues from the health department, where medicines were reportedly bought at inflated prices.

"We will not let the conspiracy of handing over food grains allotted for the needy to black marketers succeed," Roy asserted.

The former minister urged the Chief Minister to be cautious and prevent potential fraud in grain measurement and distribution.

Roy highlighted the approaching assembly elections and ongoing CAG scrutiny as reasons for heightened awareness in food supply management.

This confrontation underscores tensions within Jharkhand’s political landscape regarding food distribution and ministerial accountability.

As allegations fly, the public awaits the current Food Supply Minister’s response to Roy’s challenge and accusations.
