Buddhist Golden Temple Replica to Grace Durga Puja Celebration

Praveen Seva Samiti Plans Unique Myanmar-Inspired Pandal in Adityapur

Innovative design aims to blend Buddhist architecture with traditional Durga Puja festivities, promising a cultural spectacle for devotees.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Praveen Seva Samiti institution in Adityapur has begun preparations for this year’s Durga Puja, featuring a unique pandal inspired by Myanmar’s Buddhist Golden Temple.

Arvind Singh, chairman of Praveen Seva Smriti Sansthan and former MLA, announced the ambitious plans for this year’s celebration.

"We’re creating an attractive model of Myanmar’s Buddhist temple, adorned in golden hues, which will captivate devotees," Singh explained during the ground-breaking ceremony.

The pandal will be constructed using plywood and foam, bringing the intricate design to life.

Ashok De from Maa Parvati Decorators, West Bengal, will oversee the pandal’s construction.

Chikan Bera, an artisan from Kontai, West Bengal, will handle both interior and exterior decorations.

The organizers revealed plans for an 18-foot idol, surrounded by multi-color interior decorations and bright, colorful lighting.

"We’ll also create gardens and barricades around the pandal for crowd management," added Singh.

The pandal will be open to devotees from the first day of Durga Puja, allowing a 10-day window for darshan of both the structure and the Durga idol.

Yajaman Anurag Kumar, chief patron AK Srivastava, and other committee members attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

This innovative approach aims to blend cultural elements, offering visitors a unique experience during the festive season.
