Jyoti Singh Matharu Highlights Government Schemes for Minority Communities

JAMSHEDPUR – Jharkhand State Minority Commission Vice Chairman Jyoti Singh Matharu addressed the media at the local circuit house during his visit to Jamshedpur on Sunday.
Matharu highlighted the state government’s efforts in improving the lives of minority communities through various schemes.
He acknowledged that while many Muslims are benefiting from these schemes, they are equally available to Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, and Jain communities.
Matharu emphasized that the lack of awareness about these government initiatives is a significant barrier for these communities.
He stated, "We are touring different districts to raise awareness about these schemes among the minority communities."
Matharu discussed the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, which offers loans up to 25 lakhs with subsidies, enabling young people aged 18 to 45 to start businesses in poultry farming, goat farming, and small-scale factories.
"The scheme offers a 40% subsidy on loans up to 12.5 lakhs and a 5 lakh subsidy on loans above that, with an interest rate of 6%," he explained.
Matharu urged Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Christian communities to take advantage of this scheme to improve their economic status.
Additionally, he mentioned the Guruji Credit Card Scheme, which provides loans for education, including medical, ITI, and schooling up to the 12th grade, and the Abua Awas Yojana, which offers loans for constructing three-room houses.
Matharu shared a positive update for the Sikh community, announcing that six Sikh castes (Lohar, Chhimba, Nai, Kamyar, Kahar, and Swarnakar) will soon receive caste certificates, following discussions with the Chief Minister.
He was accompanied by former CGPC president Gurmukh Singh Mukhe, former Tinplate Gurudwara president Tarsem Singh Seme, Sonari president Tara Singh, former Sakchi president Harvinder Singh Mantu, Parvinder Singh, Gurdeep Singh Kake, Harjeet Singh, and Gurtaj Singh.
