Hidayatullah Khan Declines President Role of Central Moharram Committee

Khan cites state duties and time constraints for his decision.

Hidayatullah Khan, Chairman of the Jharkhand State Minority Commission, has declined the role of President of the Central Moharram Committee in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – Hidayatullah Khan, Chairman of the Jharkhand State Minority Commission, has declined the position of President of the Central Moharram Committee in Jamshedpur after being unexpectedly elected by 55 Moharram Akhada Committee license holders during his ten-day tour.

Upon his return, Khan cited his current governmental responsibilities and extensive travel as reasons for his inability to accept the position.

“As the Commission Chairman, I have to travel extensively throughout the state, making it difficult to dedicate sufficient time to this role,” Khan was reported as explaining.

In light of this, Khan has called for a meeting on Friday, July 12, at 5 pm in Naseem Marriage Hall, Jugsalai, inviting all Moharram committees to form the Central Moharram Committee.

“They can either elect the entire committee, including the president, or form a convener group to oversee the election of committee officials,” Khan has reportedly suggested, offering his assistance in the process.

A committee member expressed appreciation for Khan’s willingness to support the formation of the new committee, despite his inability to serve as president.

This decision emphasizes the need for committed leadership in organizing Moharram activities and the community’s collaborative spirit.
