Naxalites Call For Bandh In Kolhan Division On July 9-10

Train Speeds Reduced, Security Heightened In Response To Protest

Authorities implement precautionary measures following recent encounters with Maoist leaders.

JAMSHEDPUR – Various Naxalite organizations have announced a bandh in the Kolhan division from midnight July 9 to midnight July 10, protesting recent encounters with Maoist leaders.

Trains passing through the Naxalite red zone will operate at reduced speeds during the bandh period.

Extensive security measures are being implemented for express trains to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and other destinations.

The Chakradharpur Railway Division, known for insurgent activities, will see increased stops and speed reductions for trains.

Pilot engines will precede important mail express trains as a precautionary measure.

Railway staff, including track men and keymen, will be on high alert with regular patrols conducted on bridges and tracks.

Security forces will be deployed across railway tracks in Seraikela, Kharsawan, Chaibasa, Chakradharpur, Manoharpur, and Posaita.

Naxalites have issued a press release condemning police actions resulting in recent deaths of their comrades.

Tatanagar Railway SP Praveen Pushkar confirmed that the entire police team is on high alert for the bandh.

This bandh follows a pattern of previous protests where railway infrastructure was targeted by Naxalites.
