‘Water for Peace’ Theme Inspires Reflections on Conservation and Harmony

The students of Sacred Heart Convent School (SHCS) observed World Water Day 2024 on Friday, engaging in various activities and reflecting on the United Nations’ theme ‘Water for Peace’ to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation and its connection to global harmony.

JAMSHEDPUR – Sacred Heart Convent School (SHCS) students observed World Water Day 2024 on Friday with great enthusiasm, participating in activities such as dance, yoga, street plays, and poster-making to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation and its connection to global peace.

Teacher Samarpita, the school’s Environment Club Moderator, gave the students a slogan, "Jal bachao, Pran bachao" (Save water, Save life), as a clarion call to action, emphasizing the importance of individual efforts in preserving this vital resource.

In her address, the Principal underscored the pivotal role that individual actions played in preserving water reservoirs, urging each member of the school community to adopt water-saving habits both, at home and in their neighbourhood.

World Water Day, commemorated annually on March 22, served as a poignant reminder of the importance of water conservation, aiming to disseminate awareness and foster a culture of responsible water usage to mitigate the looming threat of water scarcity that imperils future generations.

Sister Rashmita urged the students to reflect on the interconnectedness of water conservation and global harmony, emphasizing that safeguarding this vital element was paramount for ensuring a peaceful and prosperous future for all.

Under the guidance of Sister Rashmita A.C., Principal of the school, the students embraced the United Nations‘ designated theme for 2024, ‘Water for Peace.

The event, encompassing activities such as dance, yoga, street plays, poster-making, served as a rallying call to action in the fight to conserve Earth’s most precious resource.
