Bollywood Star Offers Compensation to Ranchi Producer, Court Sets Next Hearing
Ameesha Patel, in a legal tussle over a check bounce case, offers to repay Rs 2.75 crore to Ranchi film producer Ajay Kumar Singh, setting the stage for a potential compromise.
JAMSHEDPUR – A significant development unfolds as Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel proposes to settle the check bounce dispute with Ranchi producer Ajay Kumar Singh.
The compromise involves the return of Rs 2.75 crore, an offer made through Patel’s lawyer.
The Ranchi Civil Court, under Justice DN Shukla, had mandated Patel’s physical presence, a condition repeatedly unmet.
Despite the court’s directive, Patel has chosen negotiation over appearance, submitting her proposal for a settlement.
Film producer Ajay Kumar Singh anticipates the recovery of his funds, injected into a project that never materialized.
Initially, Patel had provided two checks totaling Rs 1 crore, which were subsequently dishonored.
This financial ordeal began with a Rs 2 crore loan taken by Patel from Singh for film production, which remained unpaid post a failed release.
The compromise’s conditions, laid out by Singh’s lawyer Vijaya Lakshmi, are now before Judge Shukla, marking a crucial juncture in the case.
Legal Developments
The ongoing legal saga hinges on Patel’s physical court appearance, mandated yet unfulfilled.
With the case nearing resolution, the terms of agreement are under judicial consideration, reflecting the complexity of legal disputes in entertainment.
Film Financing Woes
Patel’s financial entanglements highlight the precarious nature of film financing, underscoring the risks involved in the industry’s investment landscape.
