JAMSHEDPUR – C Kumar suffered a grave head injury after defending his sister from molestation in Bhatia Basti, under the Kadma police jurisdiction.
The incident has prompted a police investigation following Kumar’s hospitalization at MGM Hospital.
Kumar recounted walking with his sister in Bhatia Park when they were approached by two youths who began harassing her.
In defense, Kumar retaliated, leading the perpetrators to flee only to return with a larger group and launch a severe assault.
The assailants dispersed upon causing commotion, leaving Kumar injured.
A formal complaint against 10-15 unidentified youths has been lodged at Kadma police station.
Authorities are currently delving into the case, seeking justice for the Kumar siblings.
