Jharkhand High Court Dismisses Rahul Gandhi’s Petition in Amit Shah Remarks Case

In a significant legal development, the Jharkhand High Court has dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s petition regarding his 2018 remarks against Amit Shah.

RANCHI – Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has received a big blow from the Jharkhand High Court.

While giving its verdict in the defamation case relating to remarks against Amit Shah in 2018, the High Court rejected Rahul Gandhi’s petition to quash the trial court proceedings..

Rahul Gandhi had filed a petition in the High Court against the summons of the MP MLA Court.

The High Court today rejected this petition.

After the petition is rejected, the trial against Rahul Gandhi will proceed in the lower court.

In 2018, Rahul Gandhi made an alleged objectionable remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Bengaluru.

He said, "no murderer can become the national president in Congress, only a murderer can become the national president in BJP."

This remark had drawn the ire of BJP leaders and BJP District Vice President Vijay Mishra had filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi.

A criminal defamation case was filed against the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over this remark..

Laer, Rahul had sought to cancel the trial court proceedings through a High Court petition.

On February 16, Rahul Gandhi’s written side was presented in the court.

After looking into this, Justice Ambuj Nath’s bench had reserved the decision.

This verdict that came today marks a significant development in the ongoing legal battle.
