200 Students Receive Filariasis Medication; Immediate Action Taken for Affected Twins
Two students show improvement at MGM Hospital after adverse reactions to filariasis medicine during a school campaign.
JAMSHEDPUR – In an unfortunate incident during a Filariasis eradication campaign at Tinplate Khalsa School, two students faced health complications.
Parvati and Lakshmi, twin sisters in the fifth grade, began showing symptoms of vomiting and stomach ache shortly after receiving the medication.
Their immediate transfer to MGM Hospital ensured they received the urgent care needed, including hydration treatment.
Currently, the twins are under medical supervision at the hospital and their health is reportedly on the mend.
This incident occurred amidst the district-wide Filaria Mukti Abhiyan aimed at eliminating filariasis and intestinal worms.
On the day of the event, the medical team visited Tinplate Khalsa School, administering the medication to around 200 students.
The campaign focuses on safeguarding children’s health by preventing filarial and worm infections.
Following the health scare, the school’s response was prompt, emphasizing the safety and well-being of the students.
Efforts continue across the district to combat filariasis while ensuring the safety of the children involved in the campaign.
