AIDSO Calls for Generic Paper Exams at Kolhan University

Student Body Seeks Equity in Examination System to Aid Competitive Readiness

AIDSO demands special generic paper examinations at Kolhan University, citing disadvantages in competitive exam preparation due to current practices.

JAMSHEDPUR – The All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO) has taken a firm stand, advocating for the introduction of generic paper examinations at Kolhan University to align with other universities in Jharkhand.

Sohan Mahato, the State Secretary of AIDSO, emphasized the critical need for conducting special examinations for the second generic paper, starting from the 2017 session, to ensure students’ competitiveness in exams like those for lab technicians in Jharkhand.

The student organization warns of a potential intense agitation if their demands for equal examination standards, similar to those at other state universities, are not met to prevent future student distress.

AIDSO’s memorandum to the Chief Minister and Chancellor, sent via email, argues for the reinstatement of two subsidiary papers in exams, highlighting the missed opportunities for students under the current semester system since 2017.

The organization’s push for change is supported by numerous students who rallied during the submission of the demands, signaling widespread concern over the examination structure at Kolhan University.

The request for generic paper examinations stems from the significant disadvantage Kolhan University students face in participating in various competitive exams, a concern that has escalated student distress.

Mahato’s statement sheds light on the broader implications of the examination format on students’ career prospects, advocating for a more inclusive and equitable assessment system.
