Abua Housing Scheme Gains Momentum in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur Accelerates Verification for Housing Scheme

In Jamshedpur, officials expedite physical verification for over 1.3 lakh Abua Housing Scheme applications to ensure timely benefits for eligible families.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant push towards enhancing housing accessibility, Jamshedpur’s administration, led by District Magistrate Shri Manjunath Bhajantri, has intensified efforts to complete the physical verification of applications for the state-backed Abua Housing Scheme.

This initiative was highlighted during a meeting in the Collectorate Auditorium, under Bhajantri’s chairmanship, where the focus was on expediting the verification process to achieve a 100% completion rate promptly.

The scheme, notable for its goal to provide a three-room dwelling with a clean kitchen in a minimum 31 square meter area, emphasizes registering properties in the names of family women, ensuring their empowerment and security.

In instances where a qualifying woman is not present, the property registration is transferred to the family head, maintaining the scheme’s inclusivity.

The Abua Housing Scheme, distinguished by its comprehensive assistance package of Rs 2 lakh across four installments, also integrates support for toilet construction, aligning with the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin for broader developmental impact.

Officials across the district, including Block Development Officers and Circle Officers, have been mandated to complete the application verification swiftly to facilitate the scheme’s benefits reaching the intended recipients without delay.

The meeting saw participation from key district officials such as Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Mr. Piyush Sinha, ADM Law and Order Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, District Public Relations Officer Mr. Rohit Kumar, among others, underscoring the administration’s collective commitment to the scheme’s success.

This initiative follows the Sarkar Aapke Dwar program’s efforts, where panchayat-level camps were organized to collect applications, demonstrating the government’s proactive approach to addressing housing needs.

With over 1.3 lakh applications received and 90% already verified, the administration’s directive to accelerate the verification process underscores the urgency in ensuring that eligible families benefit from the scheme at the earliest.
