Steel Medical Officers Showcase Research and Insights at AISMOC 2024

Day 3 of AISMOC 2024 highlights medical innovations and awards outstanding contributions in steel health care.

JAMSHEDPUR – The All India Steel Medical Officers Conference (AISMOC 2024) wrapped up its scientific program with a series of enlightening sessions, leading up to an awards ceremony that recognized exceptional contributions in the field of steel health care.

The day began with insightful lectures from Dr. Parag Roy on the emerging threat in lung cancer treatment and Dr. Tapan Kumar discussing syncope management.

Occupational health took center stage as doctors from across the steel industry shared their research, emphasizing the importance of workplace wellness.

A pivotal panel discussion on sustainable health care for steel employees featured experts from various steel plants, highlighting collaborative efforts towards employee well-being.

The conference’s competitive spirit was showcased during the Mediquiz, with teams from seven steel companies testing their medical knowledge.

Air Vice-Marshal (Dr) Sudhir Rai (Retd.) of Tata Steel closed the event by honoring the winners in various categories, underscoring the talent within the steel medical community.

Dr. Sanghamitra Jena and Dr. Aninda Mandal stood out as the best speakers, while Bokaro Steel Plant took home the Overall Best Team Award.

Awards in several categories showcased the depth of research and innovation in steel healthcare, from long papers to posters and occupational health studies.

The diversity of topics and the quality of research presented at AISMOC 2024 underscore the steel industry’s commitment to advancing medical care and occupational health.
