Jugsalai Police Swiftly Arrest Assailant After Murga Chowk Shooting
In Jugsalai, two youths were injured in a shooting linked to extortion demands, but are now stable after receiving medical care.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a swift response to last night’s shooting at Murga Chowk, Jugsalai, the police have apprehended Zahid Hussain, known as Vicky, and placed him under judicial custody.
The authorities have also seized a 7.65 mm pistol and a shell based on information provided by Vicky, while the hunt for his accomplices continues.
This alarming incident involved the firing of six rounds, resulting in Majeed and Mahfooz Alam alias Raju sustaining injuries; Majeed was hit in the waist and Mahfooz in his palm.
The confrontation at Murga Chowk arose when Majeed, a local tyre shop owner, and Mahfooz, were accosted by a group including Altamas, Sabbo, Mujahid, and Bikki, leading to the shooting.
Majeed recounted the events, stating that after attending a party, he had stopped for a cigarette at Murga Chowk, where the altercation and subsequent shooting occurred.
The motive behind this violent act was an extortion demand by Vicky, with Majeed revealing that his shop had also been previously set ablaze.
Both victims, Majeed of Jugsalai and Mahfooz Alam of Mango Jawahar Nagar Road No. 13, have been admitted to TMH and are currently out of danger.
The incident of shooting in Jugsalai’s Murga Chowk area was a result of the victims’ refusal to pay ransom, leading to a dangerous escalation.
