Tyre Shopkeeper Targeted in Extortion-Linked Shooting

Jamshedpur incident involving Mohammed Majeed and Mahfooz Alam results in injuries and highlights ongoing extortion dispute; police investigation underway.

JAMSHEDPUR – A violent altercation in Mararpada near Jugsalai police station area in Jamshedpur has left two youths, Mohammed Majeed and Mahfooz Alam, seriously injured.

The shooting incident, which occurred on Sunday night around 10:30 pm near Jugsalai Murgi Chowk, was reportedly linked to an ongoing extortion dispute.

Majeed, a tire shopkeeper, and his friend Alam told the police they were returning from a party when they were confronted and shot by a group led by Mujahid alias Bablu Khan, Vicky, Altamas, and Sabbo.

According to Majeed, the conflict stemmed from his refusal to pay extortion money to the group, which had previously resulted in an attack on his shop.

Majeed and Alam, who were both injured in the attack, are currently receiving treatment at MGM Hospital and are reported to be out of danger.

The police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident, including reviewing footage from nearby surveillance cameras.

Police hinted this shooting is part of a series of violent incidents involving Majeed and the group, highlighting a deep-rooted feud over extortion demands.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and law and order situation in the Jamshedpur area, prompting a swift response from police authorities.
