Jamshedpur Community Unites in Swarnarekha River Worship for Environmental Awareness
The 19th Swarnarekha Mahotsav marked a significant event in Jamshedpur, bringing together the community to worship the river and raise environmental awareness, led by MLA Saryu Roy and key trusts.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Swarnarekha Mahotsav, a revered local festival, reached its 19th year, celebrated with traditional river worship.
This significant event was organized under the joint aegis of Yugantar Bharti, Swarnarekha Area Development Trust, and Jan Suvidha Trust.
Environmental enthusiast and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy was a special participant, emphasizing the festival’s role in promoting river cleanliness and public awareness.
The worship took place at multiple locations along the river banks, including Sonari, Domuhani, Bhuiyandih’s Pandey Ghat, and Baridih’s Bhojpur Ghat.
Mukul Mishra, Manoj Singh Ujjain, and Vijay Narayan Singh led the ceremonies at these respective locations.
A significant turnout of trust members and environmental advocates joined the puja, highlighting the community’s dedication to the cause.
The ritual, involving mantra chanting and Aarti, symbolized the community’s respect and commitment to preserving the river’s sanctity.
MLA Saryu Roy reflected on the journey of the Swarnarekha Mahotsav, underscoring its 18-year legacy of fostering environmental consciousness.
