Jamshedpur gears up for Durga Puja as officials address key festival concerns

Key Points:

• GM of Tata Steel UISL meets Durga Puja Committee to discuss festival prep

• Tree pruning, slag provision, and pandal site issues addressed in meeting

• Committee requests concessions on electricity rates and paperwork simplification

JAMSHEDPUR – Officials and committee members convened to address crucial aspects of the upcoming Durga Puja festival preparations in Jamshedpur.

The General Manager of Tata Steel UISL recently held discussions with the Jamshedpur Durga Puja Central Committee representatives.

With the festival just a month away, the meeting focused on vital issues concerning pandal construction and related arrangements.

Tree pruning at pandal locations emerged as a primary concern for the organizers.

The timely provision of slag for construction work was also highlighted as a crucial requirement.

Ongoing park construction has created site limitations, prompting requests for alternative locations.

"We understand the importance of these preparations and are committed to providing better services than in previous years," stated the General Manager.

The committee emphasized the need for concessions on electricity rates, citing the festival’s grant-based organization.

Simplifying paperwork for electricity connections was another key request from the committee members.

Improvements to the immersion ghat and development of Bodhanwala ghat for vehicle turning were discussed.

The committee also requested early slag provision and repair of street lights and high mast lights.

Availability of dustbins and addressing unfinished work from last year, such as drainage issues, were brought up.

Notable attendees included General Secretary Ashutosh Singh and Executive President Bhupendra Singh.

Senior Vice President Diwakar Singh and Vice President Dharmendra Prasad also participated in the discussions.

The meeting highlighted the collaborative effort between Tata Steel UISL and the puja committee to ensure a successful festival.
