GODDA – In a significant gathering at Mohla village, Meghi Panchayat, Boarijore block, Godda, members of the Tribal Sengal Abhiyan commemorated Santhal Pargana Foundation Day.
Pargana Munna Soren, presiding over the meeting, highlighted the critical demand for the Sarna Dharma Code and announced a Bharat Bandh on December 30th to assert this need.
Soren, conveying the message from central president Salkhan Murmu, stressed the importance of nationwide cooperation for the success of the Bharat Bandh, underscoring the challenges faced by tribals without a recognized religious code.
He reminded attendees of the historical significance of Santhal Pargana, established on December 22nd, 1855, by leaders Sido-Kanhu, and emphasized the enforcement of the SPT and CNT Act for tribal rights protection.
Soren acknowledged the efforts of the central president in achieving recognition for the Santhal language Ol Chiki script in 2003.
