Jharkhand Boosts MSMEs with Substantial Subsidies and Support

New MSME Policy in Jharkhand Offers Up to ₹15 Crore Subsidy

Jharkhand government’s MSME Promotion Policy 2023 aims to bolster small and medium businesses.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand government has announced the implementation of the MSME Promotion Policy 2023, marking a significant step in supporting the state’s economic growth.

The policy, detailed in the government’s gazette notification, introduces a range of relaxations and incentives for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Under this policy, MSMEs in Jharkhand can receive subsidies up to ₹15 crore.

The state currently boasts 2.77 lakh MSME industries, forming a crucial segment of its economy.

A key feature of the policy is the establishment of a separate MSME Directorate and District MSME (DMC) Centers across all districts.

These entities will provide comprehensive assistance to entrepreneurs, from initial setup to navigating government schemes and securing single window clearances.

The MSME Directorate will oversee the DMCs, ensuring effective implementation of state and central MSME programs and facilitating both national and international trade.

Entrepreneurs will also benefit from technical support, regular workshops, and assistance in forming MSME clusters in both rural and urban areas.

Additionally, the policy includes provisions for reducing costs for MSME units through energy savings, subsidies for international trade expos, and incentives for quality certification and patenting.

Micro enterprises are eligible for a 40% fixed capital investment subsidy, with smaller subsidies for small and medium enterprises.

Special additional subsidies are designated for enterprises led by ST, SC, women, and disabled entrepreneurs.

The policy also addresses the categorization of MSMEs based on plant costs and turnover, aiding in clear classification and support.

Cluster-based development, a central aspect of the policy, focuses on collective efficiency and support for related industries, enhancing market penetration and operational efficiency.

This holistic approach aims to position MSMEs competitively while maintaining their unique characteristics.

The Jharkhand government’s comprehensive policy reflects its commitment to strengthening the MSME sector, a vital contributor to the state’s economy.
