Central Gurdwara Committee Honors Dr. Kripal Singh Sidhu and Others
Jharkhand Ratna Seva Award presented to Dr. Kripal Singh Sidhu for social service by the Central Gurdwara Management Committee in Jamshedpur.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Central Gurdwara Management Committee of Jamshedpur honored Dr. Kripal Singh Sidhu, known as the ‘messiah of the poor’, with the prestigious Jharkhand Ratna Seva Award for his remarkable social services.
Alongside Dr. Sidhu, Ravinder Kaur, a notable figure in the field of education from Kadma, also received recognition, boosting her encouragement in her endeavors.
The award ceremony took place during the Central Diwan at Sakchi Gurdwara Sahib on Thursday, where various groups, schools, and institutions involved in Nagar Kirtan were honored.
City Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal and Rural Superintendent of Police Rishabh Garg, guests at the Sakchi Gurudwara function, felicitated and rewarded Shobha Yatra participants.
SSP Kishore Kaushal commended the Sikhs of Jamshedpur and the CGPC for conducting Nagar Kirtan with utmost decorum and peace, highlighting the exemplary cleanliness and discipline maintained during the event.
CGPC Chief Sardar Bhagwan Singh expressed gratitude to Kolhan’s Sangat, attributing the historic success of this year’s Nagar Kirtan to their collective efforts.
Chairman Sardar Shailender Singh noted the record attendance of 80 thousand Sangat at Prakash Parv, marking the event’s historic significance.
The felicitation also included notable guests like Vice Chairman of Minority Commission, Jharkhand, Jyoti Singh Matharu, and General Secretary of Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib, Patna, Inderjit Singh, who shared their perspectives and distributed awards.
Dr. Kirpal Singh Sidhu received the Jharkhand Sikh Ratan Seva Award, a joint honor from various Sikh committees, for his service to the community.
A proposal to nominate Dr. Sidhu for the Padma Bhushan award was unanimously supported by the attendees.
The event also featured spiritual and cultural performances, including Gurvani-Kirtan by Sardar Kavalanjit Singh Noor and teachings from Guru Granth Sahib by Sardar Surjit Singh.
The prize distribution honored individuals and groups for their contributions, including Taranpreet Singh Banni for Palki Sahib maintenance and Joginder Singh Jogi for floral services.
Various Sikh and educational institutions, along with an eye examination camp organized by Purnima Nethralaya, were part of the comprehensive celebrations.
Distinguished attendees included CGPC members, local dignitaries, and community leaders, all contributing to the successful commemoration of Sikh culture and service in Jamshedpur.
