AISIT 2023 Inaugurated: Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Steel Industry
The Institution of Engineers, India, along with Tata Steel, inaugurates AISIT 2023 at SNTI, focusing on innovation in manufacturing and asset management in the steel industry.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Institution of Engineers (India) Jamshedpur Local Centre, in collaboration with Tata Steel, has inaugurated the All India Seminar on Innovation & Technology in Manufacturing & Asset Management for Steel Industry (AISIT 2023) at SNTI.
Er. Avneesh Gupta, FIE and Vice President TQM and Engineering & Projects at Tata Steel, was the Chief Guest, while Dr. S Venugopal, Director of NIT Nagaland, attended as the Guest of Honour.
Also present were Probal Ghosh, Vice President of Shared Services at Tata Steel, and Er. Shivanand Roy, President of IEI.
The seminar aims to serve as a platform for experts from diverse fields including researchers, academicians, scientists, engineers, students, and OEMs to discuss and share insights on innovative technologies and research in steel industry productivity and sustainable development.
Key topics include environmental responsibility, safety, digital transformation, robotics, emerging maintenance technology, smart manufacturing, and innovative tools for the steel industry.
Major steel companies like SAIL, Arcelor Mittal, JSW, JSPL, and Vizag Steel, along with academic institutions like IITs and NITs, R&D organizations, and government entities like ISRO and ADA, have shown significant interest in the seminar.
Renowned OEMs such as ABB, PAMA, Artha Wear Tech, and Parker & Grip Strapping Technologies Pvt Ltd, along with over 60 vendors, will participate and exhibit products and services aligned with the seminar’s theme.
This event, expecting around 300 delegates, will facilitate cross-learning between industries and academia, fostering research opportunities and addressing challenges.
The two-day event will feature 60 oral technical paper presentations across 12 sessions on various topics like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, AI & IoT, Innovation & New Technology, and Condition Monitoring & Asset Management.
