Moderate Rain Expected at Many Places for 3 Days in Jharkhand

State Braces for Rain with Thunderstorm/Lightning on September 2-3, Meteorological Department Issues Yellow Alert

With monsoons playing truant, Jharkhand grapples with high humidity and heat. Relief is in sight with the Meteorological Department predicting rain due to cyclonic circulation in Odisha.

RANCHI – Jharkhand’s monsoon season is currently in a slump, as soaring temperatures and intense sunlight have been causing discomfort across the state.

On Friday, Jamshedpur recorded a sweltering maximum temperature of 36.3 degrees Celsius by 8:30 am, with a minimum temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius.

The tepid monsoon has resulted in temperature spikes not just in Jamshedpur but also in several other districts including the state capital, Ranchi.

The Meteorological Department’s Dr. Abhishek Anand has however offered a glimmer of hope, forecasting heavy rainfall in various parts of the state on September 2nd and 3rd.

A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in this regard.

Light to moderate rain is expected to grace the state up until September 6, according to departmental predictions.

This upcoming rainfall is attributed to the development of a cyclonic circulation in the neighboring state of Odisha.

The state has seen a decrease of 37 percent in its annual rainfall, intensifying the need for immediate respite.

Adding to the predictions, an officer from the Ranchi Meteorological Centre stated that thundershowers and lightning are also expected in isolated areas of north-eastern and central Jharkhand.

This is in line with the current atmospheric conditions, where a cyclonic circulation looms over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar.
