Bike Rider’s Tragic Death Leads to Protests and Blockage on Tata Purulia Highway

A fatal accident in Seraikela Pitki village leaves one dead and sparks community protests, demanding immediate road repair and traffic calming measures on NH 32.

SERAIKELA – A bike rider, identified as Satish Mahto, 58, was killed instantly after being struck by an unknown tip trailer at approximately 1 pm on Wednesday in Seraikela Pitki village, Neemdih police station, near the South East Railway gate.

Satish Mahto, a local resident, was on a motorbike and was allegedly traveling towards Chandil when the accident occurred.

The tragic incident led the community to come together and block the Tata Purulia Highway NH 32 route, calling for the repair of the deteriorating road and the implementation of measures to reduce high-speed traffic.

The Nimdih police promptly arrived at the scene, attempting to pacify the locals and address their concerns.

As the situation escalated, the deceased’s body was not allowed to be removed, and the highway remained obstructed, highlighting the urgent need for traffic and road safety measures in the area.
